Apex Solventless at Banzen Dispensary

The Apex Solventless Story

Niles, Michigan, solventless specialists with over a decade of hash-making experience, washing fresh-frozen flower from their own cultivation and a small circle of trusted Michigan farms. Every product is ice-water hash pressed to rosin, no butane, no propane, no shortcuts. Their two-tier system splits standard Tier 1 (73-139-micron hash inspected under a microscope) from owner-selected S-Tier (hand-picked for exceptional flavor and aroma, packaged with the strain story printed inside the lid). The lineup runs the gamut from cold-cure and live hash rosin jars to live rosin disposables, Dino Doinks-infused pre-rolls, and the occasional collab drop. Distributed across Michigan exclusively through Yield.

Banzen is the Coldwater dispensary of choice for premium cannabis, and a regular stop for hash heads traveling in from Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Solventless drops move fast. When Apex restocks, we usually see the jars go within a few days.

Our budtenders can walk you through the difference between Tier 1 and S-Tier, point you toward the right consistency (cold cure vs. live rosin), and tell you which farm partner washed which strain. If you're new to solventless, we'll start you on a disposable so there's no rig or torch to figure out.

What People Ask About Apex Solventless

It means no chemical solvents touched the cannabis. Apex uses ice water and agitation to separate trichomes from fresh-frozen flower, then presses the resulting hash into rosin with heat and pressure. That's it, no butane, no propane, no CO2, no ethanol. The trade-off is lower yield and a higher price per gram, but you get a concentrate that's closer to the live plant in flavor and effect.

Tier 1 is Apex's standard line, only 73-139 micron hash, inspected under a microscope to confirm high trichome content and low plant matter. S-Tier is the top shelf: hand-selected by ownership for cultivars with exceptional flavor and aroma, often lower-yielding genetics, packaged in custom boxes with the strain's backstory printed inside the lid. Same extraction process, different bar for what makes the cut.

Live hash rosin is pressed fresh and stays in that loose, saucy consistency. Cold cure is the same rosin held at low temperatures for several days, which causes it to homogenize into a smoother, badder-like texture with deeper terpene expression. Same starting material, different post-press handling, pick whichever consistency you prefer for your rig or vape.

A standard low-temp dab rig (around 450-500 degrees F) works perfectly. Lower temps preserve more of the terpenes solventless rosin is known for; anything hotter and you'll burn off the flavor that justifies the price. If you don't dab, the Apex disposables and Dino Doinks infused pre-rolls deliver the same solventless concentrate in a grab-and-go format.

Keep the jar sealed, upright, and out of direct sunlight or heat. A cool drawer is fine, long-term storage works best in the fridge (let it return to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation). Heat and light degrade terpenes fast, so the cooler and darker the better.

Lower yields and labor-intensive production. A pound of fresh-frozen flower might yield a small fraction of what the same pound produces as BHO or distillate, and every step, washing, drying, pressing, and curing, is hands-on. You're paying for the absence of solvents and a process that preserves more of the plant's original flavor and effect profile.
